How do you get an audience to read poetry at the club?
I was tasked by Malmö based litteraryorginasation Ordkonst to create a unique folder for their participation inan event called AVTALET. The folder was ment to presenta sound installation that visitorsto INKONST were welcomed to participate in, allowing them to record responses to three pieces of poetry that Malmö based poets had created. I was given free hands to create something unique that would engage users to pick up the folder and explore its contents. All they wanted was for it to be something new and fun, because who would really want to read poetry at a nightclub? The result is what is best desrcibed as a messy pile of voting ballots.AVTALET was a joint effort by the leading litterature orginastations in Malmö in order to stand togheter against Tidöavtalet – a political reform aimed at limiting people from making a living from their creativity.
The parcipitating organisations were Malmötxt, Kontext Press, Lyrikvännen, Page 28, and Ordkonst. Hosted at Inkonst in Malmö.
